Coach Balvanz has been the Head Hawk since 2014 at Ankeny High and has coached high school baseball for over 20 years.
He teachesh Physical Education and Health at Parkview Middle School. He is a Simpson College graduate and has Masters in Ed from Viterbo University. He and his wife Jennifer Balvanz , who teaches Kindergarten at Prairie T

Coach Vinzant has been an assistant Varsity Coach and head JV Coach since 2023 and was the AHS Sophomore Coach for 4 years and AHS Freshman Coach for a year. Coach Vinzant is an Ankeny Alumni!
